Biography
Andreas Bach (1886–1963), painter, one of the first Impressionists in Nuremberg. 1901–1907: Apprenticeship as a lithographer. Attended evening classes at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts under Heinrich Heim. 1909–1914: Studied at the AdBK in Munich under Angelo Jank and Heinrich von Zügel. From 1918, he worked as a freelance painter in Nuremberg. Founding member of the artists’ group “Die Hütte.” Exhibitions in Dresden, Leipzig, Chemnitz, Fürth, Erlangen, Bamberg, Coburg, Würzburg, Heidelberg, Nuremberg, Budapest in 1929, and Copenhagen in 1930. In 1961, a major special exhibition was held at the Franconian Gallery in Nuremberg. Honorary member of the Society of Friends of Zügel, Wörth am Rhein.
